Due to popular demand, we’ve added a second Smart Start Basketball session from 3:30 to 4:30. Start Smart Basketball is a developmentally appropriate introductory basketball program for children four to six years old. The program prepares children for organized basketball in a fun, non-threatening environment. This is a once-a-week, six-week program starting Sunday, January 23, 2022, thru February 27. The Ruidoso Parks and Recreation Youth Basketball League will begin taking registrations for the 2021 fall season from September 13 thru October 20, 2021, with tryouts on October 23 from 4 pm to 6 pm at the Horton Complex Gymnasium. We are having a youth open gym at the Horton Complex. There will be basketball for kids in the 9th-12th grade on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 6:30 pm-8:30 pm. Grades 9 -12. Liability waiver to be signed upon arrival.

Put on your running shoes for the 5K Ruidoso Turkey Trot, an annual fun Run-Walk on the Links Trail to support the Lincoln County Food Bank. This is the final race of the Run Ruidoso 2024 season. $20 registration fee via Civic Rec (under the Activities & Programs tab)
Celebrate the Holidays with the annual Christmas in the Park. There will be pictures with Santa, lighting of the Tree, and cocoa, coffee, and cookies provided by Cornerstone Bakery.
Beautifully lit and fantastically festive, the Festival of Lights–Parade of Lights starts at 5:30 pm from the corner of Sudderth and Mechem through Midtown, down to the Chamber of Commerce. After the parade, head over to Wingfield Park for a free Festival of Lights After Party. Beginning at 7:00 PM.
JJoin us for our annual Christmas Drone Show and a Drive-In Movie at White Mountain Sports Complex on December 14, 2024. Come at 6:00 p.m. for a Drive-In showing of "Fred Claus,” followed by a spectacular holiday Drone light show at 8:15 p.m. This is a FREE public event. See you there!
